Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Strong aroma. Earthy, funky and dank apple. Slightly caramelized apples.
Initial Taste: Minimal bite. Upfront a lot of dark woody notes, rustic and funky from apples and fermentation. Fermentation is primary and strong straw elements with a bit of golden apple peel.
After Taste: Doesn’t stick around long except for a bit of the fermentation notes on the sides and back of the mouth.
On ice: Thinner on ice
Additional Notes: Coronation Hall’s Bristol offering is a crackling (sparkling designation in Quebec), earthy and rustic offering that is an homage to the Bristol terrain and community. Overall, it’s not very apple forward and has a lot of fermentation in it. The smell is strong, dank and earthy. Aftertaste has a touch of peel but overall not intense but builds as you consume the glass. No detectable sweetener in this one.
