Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Medium aroma. Acidic, crisp and sweet apple forward.
Initial Taste: No bite. Light, sweet but not sugary apples. A lot of red/green peel notes. Very light on the body for an ice cider. Crisp and clean, no fermentation.
After Taste: Becomes even more juice-like in the aftertaste. Extra clean with no real lasting body. Very quick aftertaste.
On ice: Even lighter overall in body and flavour.
Additional Notes: Spirit Tree offers a few ice cider’s, this one is the 2020, with only 800 bottles available starting 2021. This is very light bodied and extra clean. No noticeable fermentation elements and a very quick overall body and aftertaste that has hints of red and green peel. You might be surprised it is both alcoholic and at 12%, even though it sits with 84g/l of sugar. Drier, lighter than your standard ice cider, a bit more sessionable, and different than Spirit Tree’s other ice cider offerings, such as their Estate Reserve.
