Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Medium aroma. Crisp, juicy, bright apple. Hint of fermentation.
Initial Taste: Light carbonation bite. Tannin and some acidity that makes you salivate. A quick juicy, crisp apple – peel and flesh notes. Natural sugars. Mild hint of fermentation.
After Taste: Apple remains juicy and becomes brighter. Remains a long time. Clean finish.
On ice: Acidity is reduced. Mild reduction in apple but not intense.
Additional Notes: Deep Root Distillery has their own cider line on the property – Little Pig Cidery. Their Dry Apple is a very crisp and clean juicy apple experience, that is off-dry. A very clean cider overall, only a hint of fermentation to remind you it’s 6.5%. It has some natural sugars, but far from sugary. A very sessionable, easy to drink cider from the little island of PEI just outside of Charlottetown.
