Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Light aroma. Sharp apple, some heritage aspects.
Initial Taste: Minimal bite. A smooth apple with mild tannin and bitterness. Apple peel and flesh. Some fermentation notes + faint astringency. Hay.
After Taste: Becomes more peel focused tasting and mouthfeel. Some natural earthiness here.
On ice: Thinner mouthfeel. Becomes more “boozy” tasting. Slightly less apple.
Additional Notes: As part of their new single varietal series, Heeman’s Kingston Black Cider is an approachable take on a serious cider apple. It starts off rather smooth, with a mild tannin and bitterness. You get some fermentation and boozy notes upfront too. It becomes more peel-focused as it goes on, with that apparently in the mouthfeel being more gritty/dry too. Natural earthiness.
