Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Light aroma. Cinnamon forward with other baking spices. Fleshy apple. Hint of vanilla.
Initial Taste: Light bite. Quick fleshy dessert apple. Hit of baked cinnamon that grows. Spices like clove are also noticeable. Vanilla ice cream.
After Taste: Cinnamon remains the dominant element. Apples become even cleaner. Oatmeal and vanilla-crust like notes.
On ice: Thinner body. Reduced spices, especially cinnamon. More apple forward.
Additional Notes: Heeman’s well captures the beloved dutch crumble you would pick up at a farmers market in this cider. It’s very driven by warming and baked cinnamon throughout, with some other baking spices like cloves and nutmeg also seemingly present. Fleshy dessert apples are also noticeable the entire journey, with some oat/crust like notes coming through in the finish. A creamy vanilla ice cream note helps to define this and add to its accuracy in replicating the flavours of this dessert, but also could have been a cinnamon bun inspired cider.
