Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Strong aroma. Funky, dank apple and sour elements. Hint of ripe cherry.
Initial Taste: Medium bite from carbonation and funk. Strong funky and sour apples. Tart cherry has a burst but is not the primary focus of this offering. Very dank and earthy.
After Taste: Long lasting with a lot of funk and fermentation in the aftertaste. Some barreling. Little cherry lingers. Lots of acetic notes.
On ice: Not as dank, lightens the offering up.
Additional Notes: The Cerise (Cherry) by Cidrerie Compton in Quebec is a strong, barrel-aged, funky offering. Dank and earthy, the acetic notes are primary, with a little cherry on the side. Touch of the red-wine and bourbon barrel notes, especially in the aftertaste. Full bodied. If too funky or bold for you, ice does lighten it up.
