Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Medium aroma. Juicy pear skin and flesh.
Initial Taste: Medium bite from carbonation. Pear forward, skin and flesh. Juicy, semi-sweet green pear varietal notes. Mild acidity. Tonic notes.
After Taste: Pear becomes a bit drier here. Fermentation notes peak through with a mild bitterness. Lingering pear skin.
On ice: Thinner bodied, less juicy of a pear.
Additional Notes: Ardiel’s Dry Pear Cider is a followup replacement perry for their previous Victoria Pear Cider. This is nothing but pear, very forward and juicy. You get green pear varietal notes mostly, with skin and flesh. It’s semi-sweet naturally from the pear, and it does become a bit drier as it goes along, but not sugary or too sweet overall. Some fermentation notes to remind you it’s 5.5%, not just virgin pear juice. Some acidity and tonic notes to add body.
