Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Strong aroma. Floral and botanical aspects. Rustic apple. Some barreling notes.
Initial Taste: Light bite from carbonation. Balanced rustic apple. Tart and barrel-aging aspects. Florals and botanicals, slightly savoury. Apple is acidic, skin-forward with some sharp notes. Hibiscus and Rose bright the offering up a bit from the apple and smoother barreling elements but still leaves with a wild element overall.
After Taste: Lingers a bit but most of the elements reduce, leaving a bit more floral and softer finish.
On Ice: A little less acidic and body.
Additional Notes: 1818 Farm & Cidery’s Last Call (Volume Three) is a botanical (Hibiscus and Rose) barrel-aged offering that is exceptionally balanced. All three elements play off each other which leaves a delightful flavoured offering. Floral but not perfumey, rustic and wild but not harsh and barrel-aged but not hot and boozy. Would appeal to natural wine drinkers and sour beer fans.
