Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Medium aroma. Pulpy blueberry with a hint of sour cherry. A touch of sour apple.
Initial Taste: Lite bite from carbonation. Upfront semi-strong sour cherry with pulpy blueberry. Cherry has deep, spiced note to it. Crisp, bright dessert apple background. Fresh, juicy and slightly earthy fruits.
After Taste: Becomes drier and a bit more blueberry focused. Apple dissipates leaving some fermentation notes.
On ice: Reduced body and carbonation. Less juicy.
Additional Notes: The Conspiracy Theory by Spy Cider House and Distillery is a very fruit forward offering. Off-dry, juicy fresh, sour dark cherries along with some blueberry. The cherries have a richness to them, that includes some nature spice-like notes, cinnamon and clove included (but not in the ingredients). Blueberry is a bit earthy and wild. Apple is bright, dry and crisp – but not primary. Sweet from the natural juices but not sugared. Lighter on ice, its thick overall with a drier mouth sensation from the fermented fruits. Lots of body, which last a long time.
