Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Strong aroma. Acidic and funky apples with some black currant notes. Some barreling.
Initial Taste: Light bite from carbonation. Semi-smooth and dry apples with a touch of cellaring/mustiness and funk. Black currant is present but not overpowering – a bit tart.
After Taste: Apple dissipates leaving a drier, fermented and barrel aged finish. Long lasting with some farmhouse finish.
On ice: A slight change of carbonation and a little less apple.
Additional Notes: New for 2024, Cold Creek’s Cider & Black is a homage to the English cider-cocktail with infused black currant in pub-style offering. It’s dry with some funky elements, both from the apples and the barreling of the cider. Black currant gives it a gorgeous colour with a bit of a dry berry additive. Don’t expect a heavy flavour of fruit/berries, its a light fruit infusion. A very funky offering defined by the barreling.
