Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Medium aroma. Candied black currant with some pulpy apple. Floral, acidic and funky notes.
Initial Taste: Medium bite from carbonation and tartness. Candied and tart black currant notes. Green apple base with some acetic and acidic aspects. Kind of creamy.
After Taste: Black currant becomes more tart and funky. Some astringency and floral hints. Ends very dry. Lingering fruit notes.
On ice: Carbonation reduced. Increased funk and acetic notes.
Additional Notes: Slabtown’s Black Currant is one of their most bold ciders, with strong tart black currant that feature some rugged notes. The black currant tastes more candied at first, but it quickly goes rather tart and more natural tasting. Some pulpy apples but it’s not the focus. Long lingering and has some more bitter/harsher/bolder notes that may not appeal to all cider drinkers.
