Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Strong aroma. Floral and orange/clementine. Some crisp apple.
Initial Taste: Medium bite from carbonation. A quick savoury floral note. Bitter aspects, with some acidity. Apple base is thin but crisp, with some alcoholic/fermentation notes.
After Taste: Becomes smoother with the floral aspects remaining. Orange + citrus notes emerge, and linger. A slight grit and resin lingers, most likely from hops.
On ice: Thinner body. Less apples. Hop flavours are not as intense but flavours remain the same mostly.
Additional Notes: Ernet’s Cahoots Cider is a “ single variety dry-hopped cider using Amarillo hops”. Amarillo hops tend to be floral and citrusy, so the flavours of this cider are very accurate and well done. It starts off bold, with a savoury floral note, and some bitter + fermentation notes. It does become smoother into the aftertaste but the hop notes remain and add orangey and citrusy aspects here. Slightly resinous from the hops as well. The apple is thinner but present throughout, being crisp and somewhat fleshy, but the hops dominate mostly.
