Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Medium aroma. Crisp, fleshy apple. Fruity esters – maybe a pear note. A nuttiness to it.
Initial Taste: Light bite from carbonation. A quickly bright, creamy, blend of apple notes. Fleshy apple, with hints of pear.
After Taste: Apples become drier, with a hint of natural bitterness emerging. Bittersharp aspects are noticeable here.
On ice: Thinner bodied. A decent flavour reduction.
Additional Notes: Woodfolk’s Sun Gold is a fitting name – it’s bright and uplifting with a yellow/pink taste and look to it. It starts off with a fleshy, creamy apple – particularly the Crimson Crisp it’s mostly composed of. We get hints of pear-like notes here too. As it goes on, the apple becomes a bit drier, with some natural apple bitterness coming through – possibly from the bittersharp + bittersweet apples. We particularly get the sharpness of the unknown bittersharp apples here.
