Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Medium aroma. Tart cherry with cellared and earthy apples.
Initial Taste: Light bite with some acidity. As carbonation dissipates, a semi-tart cherry with apple base become present. Apples, not overly strong, are mostly heritage tasting with some tannins. Buttery undertones.
After Taste: Becomes more dark cherry flavoured and less apple present. Some notes from the fermentation process also present. Ends mostly dry.
On ice: Becomes much flatter and thinner. Less cherry flavour.
Additional Notes: One of the original cherry ciders in Ontario, Cherriosity has stood the test of time. Tart cherries and a medley of apple notes – including some heritage – define this cider. Some elements from the fermentation process add depth but aren’t overwhelming. Mostly dry tasting, it has a slight dusting of sweetness. Think red tart crushed cherries, with a hint of maraschino and dark varieties.

Sorry to hear. Unfortunately the LCBO sometimes keeps old product on their shelves. West Avenue’s retail store will have the freshest cans available.

I wish any of this flavour profile was accurate regarding the can I purchased yesterday at the LCBO. I had very high hopes, as I am a cider drinker and love cherries, but this tasted like straight-up apple cider vinegar. It was awful. Maybe this particular can had gone bad, but I couldn’t drink it. I poured it down the drain. What a waste.
