Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Strong aroma. Sweet pulpy apple. Some astringent, oaky whiskey notes
Initial Taste: Light bite. Blend of apple notes (tannic and dessert) that is similar in strength to the whiskey barreling elements present.
After Taste: Apple dissipates leaving medium-strength whiskey elements. Smooth, somewhat long lingering with more oaky and woody notes emerging. Some smoky elements in the aftertaste.
On ice: Reduced overall flavour and harshness
Additional Notes: The Whiskey Cask by Two Blokes Cider is a barrel-aged cider which is not as strong (nor overpowering) like many others with a similar aging process. It starts with blended apple and whiskey notes; where the apple dissipates into the aftertaste, and its left with somewhat dry and smooth whisky elements. Balanced, pretty clean and smooth. An easy entry to a barrel-aged cider while still holding classic Ontario apple elements. You get a lot of the whiskey flavour nuances, with only a bit of the astringency.
