Cider Crate Tasting Notes:

Smell: Strong aroma. Heavy mixed spices. Caramelized apple. Black tea.
Initial Taste: Medium bite from carbonation. Quick and semi-heavy medley of spicing – in particular cardamom and clove. Pulpy, caramelized apple. Black tea grit.
After Taste: Spices become smoother, with nutmeg and cinnamon really shining here. Apples remain the same. Black tea becomes more nuanced and earthy + leaving a grit on the palate into the finish.
On ice: Thinner body. Mellowed spices and black tea notes. Apples taste the same.

Additional Notes:  Two Bloke’s Open Hands Chai Masala Cider is a well executed tea-infused cider that really showcases all the promised aspects well. It starts off strong with all of the chai spices, in particular the cardamom and clove for a heavier and grittier experience. It then becomes smoother, with the nutmeg and cinnamon really showcased. The apple base remains the same throughout, pulpy and caramelized. The black tea is also medium-strength, with good tea tannins and grit. The cider is also for a good cause – supporting sustainable agricultural and female entrepreneurship in Punjab, India.
