Cider Crate Tasting Notes:

Smell: Medium aroma. Pulpy, lightly caramelized apple with some peel. Booziness. Woody.
Initial Taste: Medium bite from carbonation. Led by the oak barreling, the apples have sharp acidity, some tannin. Booziness and astringency. Bittersharp notes from Kingston Black. A slightly bruised, semi-caramalized apple flavour.
After Taste: Earthiness and grit from the Golden Russet comes through.  Mild stone fruit. Booziness remains, some astringency in the throat lingers longer than flavours stay. Some chalkieness lingers.
On ice: Much reduced body and intensity.

Additional Notes: Two Blokes’ Angel’s Share Barrel Aged Cider is hefty on the barreling, you won’t be disappointed if you like this style. A boozy experience, you get a lot of astringency and “alcohol burn” after the opening of oak/wood from the barreling. It then becomes a more classic cider experience, with a slightly caramelized, bruised, bittersharp Kingston Black and fleshy Golden Russet duo coming through – both noticeable at different points of the experience. We got a bit of stone fruit like notes near the end. But after the other flavours are gone, the booziness stays in the throat for a while. Tastes stronger than the 7.2%.
