Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Medium aroma. Gritty red apple peel. Mild creamy pear. Cellared notes.
Initial Taste: Minimal bite. Quick red apple peel forward. Apple peel grit and tannins. Fleshy pear notes.
After Taste: Apple becomes smoother, pear more obvious. Mild bitterness and cellar notes. Very clean finish.
On ice: Reduced mouthfeel and grit. Watered down flavours. Not as dry.
Additional Notes: Twin Pines’ Hammer Bent Traditional Apple-Pear pours a colour we were not expecting – it comes out a pale lavender opposed to your standard golden yellow. A very soft and mellow cider, it starts off with a strong flavour and grit from we presume red apples (seems as though maybe the colour of the cider came from that too). As the peel flavour dwindles, more soft apple and juicy pear comes out. A very easy drinking cider and it cleans out of the mouth very well also.
