Smell: Medium aroma. Rich caramelized and crisp apples. Slightly tart and earthy.
Initial Taste: Light bite from carbonation. Off-dry apples. Tannins and acidity. Red peel notes. Fermentation and alcohol notes present.
After Taste: Apple remains the same but becomes smoother and slightly more peel focused. Bitter/ fermentation elements reduces.
On ice: Carbonation almost eliminated. Less apple-forward.
Additional Notes: Twin Pines’ Hammer Bent Old World Cider is a traditional, rudimentary cider to the maximum. Rich in apple flavours from start to finish, it has a lot of red peel notes that become more present near the end. Tannins, acidity, fermentation and astringency all greet you throughout the sipping journey to add depth and complexity. A cider connoisseurs dream but could also be loved by new cider drinkers looking to try something as traditional as possible in Ontario with no additives.
