Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Strong smell. Very musty apple aromas with hints of spices and pumpkin.
Initial Taste: Mild bite. Mostly clean apple flavour with some fermentation present. Spices are noticeable quickly – including allspice and cinnamon.
After Taste: Fresh, pureed pumpkin flavour shows up in the aftertaste. Not overly long-lingering and is extra smooth. Some tangyness and allspice remain with earthy notes. Finishes with the pumpkin flavour, little apple and a touch on the dry, smokey side.
On ice: Carbonation cut by a lot. Some of the spices are reduced. Easier to pick out the pumpkin and it becomes smoother to consume.
Additional Notes: Spirit Tree Pumpkin is a great take on a clean tasting and feeling apple cider with elements of spice and fresh pumpkin that carefully balance each other. Its straightforward, with little progression in taste – with just the right balance for this cider to be easily consumed without feeling full. Good for consuming with a savory main-course or as a refreshing desert, in lieu of a pumpkin pie.
