Cider Crate Tasting Notes:

Smell: Strong aroma. Sweet candied strawberries, a blast of tart rhubarb and some dessert apples.
Initial Taste: Minimal bite. Quick tart and natural rhubarb. Fresh strawberries that are semi-juicy and semi-creamy. Tingly and without many fermentation elements.
After Taste: Rhubarb slowly dwindles. Apple base becomes more dominant – semi-sweet and light bodied. Creamy strawberries linger, otherwise a clean finish.
On ice: Slightly thinner mouthfeel and flavours. Otherwise the same.

Additional Notes:  Sid Cider’s Strawberry-Rhubarb Cider is a very flavour forward, fun and summer-based offering. Starting heavy on the sweet rhubarb, it is natural, accurate and a bit earthy. Strawberries start more juicy, becoming more creamy into the finish and they linger awhile. Apple base really only becomes descriptive and noticeable in the aftertaste (which is quite creamy). A sweeter offering but also strong at 8%!

My wife has tried this and enjoyed it so much that I secretly took note. It was her birthday the other day and so I went hunting for a few cans of Sid’s Cider -Strawberry Rhubarb. However, the NSLC didn’t carry it and sent me to a private liquor store. When I got there I was told they didn’t have it either. Is this still available for purchase? How can get some?

This is a cider review blog – you will have to reach out directly to Sids. But there is a chance they no longer are in operation.
