Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Strong aroma. Heavy red grape. Acidity and effervescence. Mild pulpy apple.
Initial Taste: Mild sensation from acidity. Quickly red grape and red apple peel forward. Some gripping fruit tannins. Mild red berry notes.
After Taste: Apples dissipate while the red grape/wine flavour remains and lingers awhile. Some minerality. Ends dry, rosé wine-esque.
On ice: Smoother and slightly more apple focused.
Additional Notes: Ship Builders’ Moscato Cider is more of a red grape-focused cider than being red or rosé wine inspired. You get both apples and grapes very quickly, and it becomes more grape focused into the aftertaste, as well as being slightly more red-wine like in the finish. An elevated acidity that makes it a sophisticated cider but not making the offering harder to consume. Would appeal to wine and cider fans alike as it draws from both worlds.
