Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Medium aroma. Bright, candied cherries. Hint of brandy/spirit.
Initial Taste: Medium bite. Cherry tastes black/marachino-like and is bright, candied, semi-tart. Hints of apple, peel and flesh
After Taste: Darker cherry notes emerge, along with the brandy notes. Boozy and warming. Woodiness. Cherry lingers awhile, along with booziness.
On ice: Thinner mouthfeel. Watered-down, including brandy-elements.
Additional Notes: Sage Bird’s Brandied Cherry is a full bodied experience, heavier in mouthfeel and full of flavour. Its a cherry-dominate experience, with only a hint of apples upfront. Cherry is brighter to start, tasting candied, marachino-like, with a bit of tartness. Into the aftertaste, some darker cherry notes emerge, and it becomes more dry. The promised brandy emerges here, with spirit flavour and a bold booziness to it with a light vanilla-bean essence. A long-lingering cider with impactful characteristics.
