Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Semi-strong aroma. Extra sweet but earthy apple notes. Creamy.
Initial Taste: Light bite from carbonation. Semi-sweet apple that is less sweet than it smells. Some elements of the fermentation process obvious.
After Taste: Becomes more tangy and sweetness is reduced. Stronger apple flavour further into the sip. Fermentation elements are reduced substantially.
On ice: Becomes thinner, though the apple elements remain the same. Less carbonation.
Additional Notes: Not as sparkling as expected, and not as sweet as it smells, Redstones’ Sparkling Cider has a unique taste that becomes more apple forward as it is consumed. It starts more heavily with the fermentation process flavour notes and finishes more as a sweeter cider. A lot of depth and approachable but still quite sophisticated. A good representation of the emerging definition of what an “Ontario Cider” is.
