Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Strong aroma. Caramelized red flesh notes. Minerality.
Initial Taste: Minimal bite. A thick red apple body – flesh and peel notes. Bittersharp acidity + boozy undertones.
After Taste: Apple notes become more caramelized. Becomes drier as it goes along.
On ice: Thinner body. Tastes less alcoholic, more apple clarity.
Additional Notes: Michel Jodoin’s grand Mousseaux Rosé Brut is a very elevated cider traditionally made with red-fleshed Gevena Apples to create a red body and taste. At 7%, it certainly tastes this strong, as it leans towards the wine-world in body and flavour notes at times. A heavier body, almost syrupy, greets you, leading way to a lot of Geneva apple notes that are bittersharp and acidic, with some natural sugars. It becomes drier as it goes along. Very crisp and lots to explore.
