Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Strong aroma. Dry tannic apples with pulpy notes. Some cellared elements
Initial Taste: Light bite. Quick cellared, dank and tannic apples, that are pulpy. Semi-fresh burst of brightness to start which dissipates in the aftetaste.
After Taste: Longer lingering cellared and dank elements linger. Some oak and woody notes. Some caramelization notes. Tannins stay on the palate awhile.
On ice: Reduced overall flavour and mouthfeel. Less fresh and is stripping of its purpose.
Additional Notes: The Danforth Road series by Loch Mór Cider this time features the single varietal popular in the UK, Yarlington Mill. Starting off with a very quick burst of bright and pulpy apples, it quickly becomes cellared, dank and oaky in a long-lingering finish. A lot going on in this one – it’s a very classic, dry offering with some great tannic, caramel and apple elements that are often found in British offerings.
