Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Medium aroma. Black tea with spices, tannins and light sweet apple
Initial Taste: Light bite from carbonation. A light and smooth dessert apple base with a hint of sweetness and peel, that quickly becomes spice- tea dominate
After Taste: Apple all but reduced, tea becomes more prominent leaving behind tannic black tea grit. Spices clear out pretty completely also. Black tea lingers awhile.
On ice: Slightly less carbonated. Even more back tea focused but less tannin grit and body.
Additional Notes: The Liberty Village Chai Dry Cider has three stages: 1) light apples followed by a 2) strong (but short lived) burst of chai spices that give way to a 3) dry, tannic and gritty black tea that lingers all on its own. Fermented to dry, so not much apple flavour. Black tea flavours are accentuated on ice.
