Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Strong aroma. Wild and funky apple. Peel elements with some woody notes.
Initial Taste: Medium bite from carbonation. Starts with a semi-funky and caramelized apple. Lots of earthy and woody notes but still balanced across acidity and tannic elements. Rich with some bitter sweet apple characteristics.
After Taste: Lingers but not intensely. Still maintains a bunch of peel and some acidity but much more mellow. Little change from initial taste.
On ice: Less carbonation and body. A touch smoother and less funky.
Additional Notes: The Pommes d’été (Summer apple) by Les Pommes Perdues Cidrerie Micro is a balanced, wild ferment with a full body, some acidity and bitter sharp apples. A rustic combination that remains consistent from first sip to lingering aftertaste. Deep in colour, but not too heavy in ABV (5.5%), this classic and heritage style offering would pair very well with food, or on its own. Its “funky” but also done clean, no off notes detecable.
