Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Mild aroma. Tangy, bitter-sharp apples.
Initial Taste: Light bite from carbonation. Smooth, clean, slightly tangy and very crisp apple notes.
After Taste: Some of the cleanness drops and you get a bit of the fermentation notes. Remains bright with some tangy elements. Slight honey notes. Apple taste clears the mouth quickly, leaving slight peppery notes.
On ice: Slightly reduced carbonation and thinner mouth feel.
Additional Notes: The Heirloom (2018) from Heritage Estates is an incredibly clean cider. Very crisp, light and slightly tangy, it’s 7% but does not taste like it. Some of the apple elements dissipate in the aftertaste, but overall its a simple, low carbonation, apple-juice forward cider.
