Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Light aroma. Slightly tart and caramelized bright apple.
Initial Taste: Light bite from carbonation. A quickly puckering, punchy apple. Crisp with some juiciness and bright elements. Lots of acidity and somewhat clean except for the extreme sour elements.
After Taste: Lingers for a while, and once the sour dissipates you get some melon notes. A little more floral in the longer-lingering aftertaste. Still remains clean with some saline finish.
On ice: Reduces the overall flavour and intensity.
Additional Notes: Hall Market’s Dolgo Crabapple Sour is that, SOUR. Crisp with bright elements, it’s much cleaner than most crabapple-based offerings are. A bit of melon as the sour dissipates, it gains a bit of saltiness in the finish. Isn’t funky or dank like some crabapples/sour ciders are, so those who are fans of intense (but clean) sour will like this. It’s a little bit short of vinegar intensity, and a bit of ice helps to cut it.
