Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Strong aroma. Funky, acidic apple. Minerality.
Initial Taste: Light bite from carbonation. A lighter bittersharp dry apple base, with some funk and acidity. Carbonation gives an early fleshy note, that finished mostly peel-focused.
After Taste: Has slightly more apple present, though minerality is noticeable. Long lingering with the fermentation notes being prominent at the end.
On ice: Softer and more watered down overall
Additional Notes: First in Hall Market’s 1947 Limited Edition series, their Russet & Northern Spy is a fermentation forward offering. Very dry with some acidic and tannic notes, it mainly has some apple elements from the peel. A touch of bitterness, its minerality is strong and noticeable in the long lingering aftertaste. Sharp, pungent smell upfront that’s metallic and funky.
