Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Medium aroma. Bright, dry, gritty apple. Fermentation notes.
Initial Taste: Minimal bite from carbonation. Soft, low tannin apple that’s a bit sharp. Some natural sweetness but leans dry. A little juicy.
After Taste: Apple peel grit and earthiness. Becomes drier. Ends on the apple peel and some fleshy notes and fermentation aspects. Quick finish.
On ice: Removes carbonation. Becomes a softer apple, less earthiness.
Additional Notes: Named after being the 5th generation in the family business, the Generation’ Cider Co’s Fifth Branch is an off-dry cider that definitely features their apples in a raw and natural form. Low tannin, “soft” and “sweet (apple type)” apples comprise the base. You get some apple peel grit, earthiness and fermentation notes throughout. There is a bit of natural sweetness, but it’s mostly a dry experience from start to finish.
