Smell: Strong aroma. Pungent, earthy, mature pear, with a hint of creaminess.
Initial Taste: Minimal bite. Dewy earth. Soft bruised pear. Semi-gritty. Black pepper hints. Less intense than it smells
After Taste: Becomes smoother, even a touch creamier. Ends with earthy but soft pear notes. long lingering.
On ice: Thinner body. Elements slightly watered down.
Additional Notes: FieldBird’s 2019 Lazy Whistle smells pungent, but it is actually a smoother cider to consume, so don’t let the initial sniffs scare you off. This is an earthy perry – featuring dewy earth, bruised fruit and even a hint of black pepper notes. Starts more funky than it ends. The pears within are soft and delicate. Tastes a lot lighter than the 7%.
