Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Strong aroma. Strong, heavy earthy mint with some fresh watermelon
Initial Taste: Light bite from carbonation. Blended semi-sour apple and semi-sweet watermelon contrast each other at the start, which is then overtaken by a bright, gritty mint.
After Taste: Spearmint grows and becomes much earthier, crowding out any apple or watermelon.
On ice: A lot less flavour, and watered down.
Additional Notes: Ernest’s Watermelon Mint is one of three new offerings in the 2022 cider spritzer, low-alcohol, low-sugar mix pack. It starts off with a hit of watermelon that is semi-fresh but not full bodied, and a touch of dessert apple before a spearmint takes over. A bit cooling for the palate. Lingering a long time on the earthy mint, it finished on some fermentation elements.
