Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Medium aroma. Bright, cherry juice, that’s slightly candied. Hint of apple.
Initial Taste: Mild bite. Bright, vivid, red cherry that’s bold and a bit syrupy. Slightly tart. Fleshy dessert apple base, noticeable but less prominent than the cherry..
After Taste: Becomes a smoother, more candied cherry. Cherry lingers awhile. Hints of vanilla and cream come through.
On ice: Minimal change. A bit thinner of a mouthfeel.
Additional Notes: Ernest’s Cherry Pie is a strong cherry offering, that tastes jammy like the inside of a pie, but with minimal pie crust aspects. The cherry is a bright, vivid red cherry throughout – starting off a bit more tart, and then becoming more candied as it goes on. There are some dessert apple notes present, but the cherry really shines and overtakes them. Hints of vanilla and cream. Could have also been a part of a “fruit cocktail cider” with the way the cherry tastes.
