Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Strong aroma. Heavy herbs, in particular juniper. Tonic essences.
Initial Taste: No bite. Quick botanical notes, especially juniper and pine. Bitterness. Mild gin astringency. Mustiness and tonic-forward.
After Taste: Heavier botanical and herb notes slowly dwindle. The mildest of apple notes quick appear. Bitterness and herbs do linger however, as well as tonic notes, but the body disappears completely.
On ice: Body is thinner. Intensity of ingredients much weakened.
Additional Notes: In continuing with their cider-seltzer series, East Street’s Après Gin Botanical and Tonic cider seltzer is almost an exact copy of the beloved gin and tonic cocktail itself. Minimal apples that only slightly appear in the aftertaste, its strong on the botanical notes throughout – in particular juniper and pine. It also strongly features tonic flavours and mouthfeel. A light body but strong flavour scheme. Very artisanal.
