Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Strong aroma. Semi-sweet apples. Smooth citra-hops and honey.
Initial Taste: Light bite. Sweet and creamy bright apples that are slightly soft. Smooth, somewhat citrus-like hops with a balanced medium honey flavour. Hints of astringency and earthiness.
After Taste: Apple dissipates, leaving more hops and honey elements. Becomes drier with some acidity notes. Long lingering honey once the apple is fully gone.
On ice: Reduced overall flavour. Removes most honey elements.
Additional Notes: Hopped on Honey by Duxbury Cider Co. is a re-imagination of their Tilted Barn hopped cider for 2021. The addition of Makwa honey makes this very smooth and is easy to drink. The hops are not overpowering, but provide a bit of edge to match the bright, sweet and creamy apples. This one tastes much lighter than 6.5%, and is exceptionally balanced with its three main flavours – hops, honey and apples.
