Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Medium aroma. Dry, fresh and funky strawberries with some overripe notes. Slight syrup smell.
Initial Taste: Minimal bite. Semi-strong over-ripe strawberry that has some sweet apples taste like they have gone through the fermentation process.
After Taste: Strawberry dissipates leaving a semi-clean, slightly thicker apple base that is somewhat long lingering.
On ice: Slightly thinner, minimal change.
Additional Notes: Downey’s Hard Apple Cider with Strawberry is a “baked” tasting offering, that has some overripe strawberry that’s thick and tastes like a fruit filling. Apples are a strong base that are full-bodied and become cleaner as time goes on. Long-lasting. Apple base is familiar to their other ciders. Simple and standard in taste and journey.
