Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Medium aroma. Ripe watermelon juice. Tonic elements. Minimal to no apple notes.
Initial Taste: Minimal bite. Quick watermelon juice that’s natural, a bit earthy/dank. Mild fleshy apple. Seed, flesh and rind notes.
After Taste: Apples are gone, becoming solely watermelon-focused. A bit brighter here. Ends on lingering natural watermelon notes.
On ice: A bit thinner, but a brighter, more candied watermelon.
Additional Notes: Crimson’s One in a Melon is a fully-committed watermelon cider that heavily focuses on the titular ingredient, with a minimal apple base. The folks here did not skimp on this seasonal ingredient, being a strong watermelon flavour from start to finish. You get all aspects of the fruit here in the journey – flesh/juice, rind and seeds. It starts off a bit earthier, and becomes a bit brighter/more candied in the finish. A long-lingering flavour. A bit of natural sweetness, but rather dry overall.
