Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Medium aroma. Hints of savoury floral and citrus. Funky, dry apple.
Initial Taste: Medium bite from acidity. Quickly sour and dank apples. Fermentation and barreling notes.
After Taste: Becomes smoother and brighter, but still with fermentation notes. Apples are a bit more fleshy. Rough citrus-like notes. Sourness migrates to the throat and lingers.
On ice: Thinner body. Helps reduce sourness and funk. Smoother overall.
Additional Notes: As a part of County Cider’s Legacy Series, the Sidra is inspired from the well-known style from Spain. Well capturing the sourness and dankess of this traditional style, its gritty, with a lot of fermentation and barreling notes, as well as being a bit pungent, funky and decently puckering at times. The apples are very dry, becoming slightly brighter and more flesh-focused as the more bold elements dwindle. Some of the sour notes end up lingering in the throat for a while. Having tried a traditional Spanish Sidra before having this will help add context.
