Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Strong aroma. Spicy ginger. Forward, syrupy raspberry.
Initial Taste: Light bite from carbonation. Tangy, plump and slightly wild raspberry. Earthy ginger with a hint of sharpness/spice. Mild apple base.
After Taste: Becomes a smoother experience. Ginger is sweeter, less gripping. Raspberries also are sweeter and thinner bodied here. Ginger lingers the longest on the palate.
On ice: Thinner body. Ginger is much less intense. More cocktail-like.
Additional Notes: Canmore, Alberta’s Core Values’ Pink Moon is an adjunct-focused cider made with balanced raspberries and ginger. The raspberries and ginger are prominent the whole journey and do shift in notes – you only get a bit of the apple base midway. Raspberries make the cider a bit heavier of a mouthfeel, but do become thinner in the aftertaste. Ginger is earthier upfront, but it too becomes smoother and sweeter in the end. If ginger is too bold for you, drink on ice, it weakens the sharpness of this.
