Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Medium aroma. Dry, cellared & earthy apple notes. Peel and flesh. Hints of farmhouse funk.
Initial Taste: Medium bite. Cellaring/aging notes. A somewhat crisp, dry apple. Oak and earthy notes. Semi-tannic and acidic apple base.
After Taste: Bolder elements dwindle. Apple becomes softer, creamier. Herby and minerality hints.
On ice: Reduces tannins and earthy elements. Reduced mouthfeel. Strips a lot of characteristics.
Additional Notes: Commoner Cider’s debut cider, the Original Dry, is a semi-tannic, crisp cider that has a mostly upfront flavour profile. The apples are dry, and seem more fleshy-tasting, but there is a bit of tannin from the peel too. Oak and earthy notes add depth. The body and flavour isn’t too long lingering, but the apple does become a bit creamier in the finish, once the stronger flavours like cellaring, dwindle. Some herbiness and minerality add character. No added sulphites.
