Cider Crate Tasting Notes:

Smell: Medium aroma. Dry, dank pear. Some funk and damp wood.
Initial Taste: Medium bite from carbonation, a bit tingly. A dank fermentation opening, with some foamy carbonation that is the focus at first. A bright, naturally candied pear note that’s more peel-focused, and green tasting – maybe bartlett-tasting.
After Taste: Pear becomes drier, more natural tasting – a bit earthy.
On ice: Much less carbonation on ice. A much less sweet and bright pear. More static.

Additional Notes: Cold Creek’s 2024 Pear Cider, is a lively cider that is foamy when poured, so let it breath for a bit after opening (and especially if it was chilling sideways in a fridge). You do get a lot of carbonation in the senses at first, and some funk and fermentation notes (maybe even a touch of light sulphur). But following, it becomes a brighter, semi-candied pear that seems more peel-focused in flavour – it also has a “green” earthy note. As it goes on, the pear becomes drier, and more natural tasting – also more flesh notes. A perry through and through, with many elements that comes in the form of different, successive flavour layers.
