Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Medium aroma. A medley of apple notes. Pulpy. Cellared. A bit acidic.
Initial Taste: Minimal bite. Mature yellow apples greet you. A blend of peel and flesh. Acidity. A bit of tartness.
After Taste: Apples become creamier. A smoky note emerges here. Ends dry, on lingering tannic notes. Somewhat long lingering flavours.
On ice: Becomes much thinner. A lot of desirable elements are stripped.
Additional Notes: Cold Creek’s 2022 vintage of their Hera’s Sacred Tree is a drier option for them, made with a lot of traditional elements. Made with golden delicious apples, the cider is dry and crisp throughout. Upfront, you get more bold elements, like acidity and tartness, with it becoming smoother and creamier in the finish. There is a unique smokiness to it, that we believe is from the golden delicious apples; as well as a subtle cellaring and fermentation presence. 7% so a little more kick then their others as they explore the whole range of different methods and ingredients.
