Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Strong aroma. Caramelized & fermented apple notes. Woody-elements.
Initial Taste: Medium bite from carbonation. Sharp, crisp apple with a touch of old world-like caramelization. Medium acidity with some tannic elements.
After Taste: Apple becomes a bit drier after caramelized notes leave. A hint of funk and barreling come through. Some minerality and saline notes. Faint lingering tannins.
On ice: A slight change of carbonation, but minimal change.
Additional Notes: The 2023 vintage of Cold Creek’s Éirinn go Brách is a drier offering, with whispers of Brittany-like caramelization notes. A dry offering, it’s a bit stronger at 6.8%, but also is defined by its crispness and layers of apple characteristics. It becomes drier as it goes along, with some funkiness and barreling coming through at the finish – as well as minerality. Some tannins, but not too gripping or astringent.
