Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Strong aroma. Gritty, yellow apple peel, some earthiness. Bright.
Initial Taste: Medium bite from carbonation. Bright semi-dry apples that are slightly tannic with a bit of acidity. Yellow apple goldenness. Touch of sweetness upfront that dissipates quickly.
After Taste: Lingers a long time with a peel and some fermentation finish. Apricot like notes. Not much change from the first sip but stays on the pallet.
On ice: Less character.
Additional Notes: As part of their single varietal series, Clafeld’s Ginger Gold Sweet is an early apple (August) offering that’s semi-dry, slightly tannic with a touch of acidity. Long lasting overall, some slight floral notes and a bit of fermentation elements as well. Not that sweet, though is more sweetened vs their Ginger Gold offering also offered.
