Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Medium aroma. Fermented, sulfur and funky notes. Medley of apples. Buttery notes.
Initial Taste: Minimal bite from carbonation. Fermentation note forward. Bright, crisp apples that seem bitter-sharp dominate. Some earthy/funky/dank hints
After Taste: Apple characteristics remains the same but the intensity disappears quickly. Cleans out mostly with mild fermentation and dank notes lingering. Cucumber/vegetal aspects.
On ice: Carbonation and apple are cut. Funky notes more forward.
Additional Notes: Carlisle’s Tally Ho Valley is a very rudimentary cider in nature, that is bold with fermentation, funk and dank notes. It’s a very front-flavour heavy cider that clears out quickly, with only small lingering vegetal notes in the finish. The apples for when they are noticeable are bright and bitter-sharp tasting. Has a very dark aspect to it, so maybe more for farmhouse cider lovers.
