Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Medium aroma. Heavy fermentation notes. Punchy, semi-pungent apples.
Initial Taste: Light bite from carbonation. Thick medley of apple flavours. Heavy fermentation notes. Carbonation adds tonic notes. A touch of funk.
After Taste: As fermentation notes clear out, it becomes slightly brighter and sweeter. Tannins coat the mouth, also lingering with some flavour. Mild maple and earthy notes.
On ice: Becomes thinner, slightly reduced flavour and carbonation.
Additional Notes: Carlisle’s Progreston Falls is a fermentation flavour driven cider, with a medley of apple flavours noticeable. The carbonation adds a lot of mouthfeel and some tonic flavour, but doesn’t last long. Once the fermentation notes clean out, the apples become brighter and sweeter. Throughout there are mild alternative flavour notes, including some funk and some earthiness. A decent amount of tannins in this one. A refreshing farm-cider option.
