Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Strong aroma. Crisp apple smell, medium funk. Bright.
Initial Taste: Light bite from carbonation. Starts off extra clean and caramel-like. Builds in intensity as the sour and funky elements (not strong but prominent) grow. It has a toasted element, overall bright and dry with some saline notes.
After Taste: Aftertaste is long lingering in the back of the throat. Wild apple characteristics really on display here. Has a lemon zest/juice finish with some fermentation notes as the apple cleans out.
On ice: Slightly less intense, cuts the sour.
Additional Notes: Brooker’s Batch #7 Batch 7 Wild Blend Sparkling Cider from 2022 is a extra crisp, very sour cider that starts very clean and gets a lot funkier in the aftertaste. Very apple forward it finishes with a lot of lemon, funk and sour elements. Wild apple elements really are defined in the finish. Bold cider that is also dry with some toasted and saline notes thanks to its wild yeast and apples. There is so much going on in this bottle.
