Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Medium aroma. Toasted oak. Juicy apple. Vanilla.
Initial Taste: Light bite from carbonation. Quick crisp apples, some acidity and tannins. Mild astringency.
After Taste: Apples become slightly more caramelized. Oak notes emerged here, slightly toasted tasting. Earthy hints. Clean finish. Ends with vanilla notes.
On ice: Slightly watered down. Softer apples and oak notes.
Additional Notes: Brickwork’s 5th in their Ciderhouse Series, the Blossomed Oak, is inspired by the oak trees in High Park. A mostly dry tasting cider, its semi-bright, and decently crisp. A good natural apple acidity and tannins helps make this a sophisticated choice. It starts off mostly apple focused, and then into the aftertaste the promised oak notes come through strong, tasting earthy and even a bit toasted in nature. Vanilla notes really shine at the finish, as it cleans out of the mouth well here also.
